To prevent accidental spraying, this model features a safety cap that opens to reveal the actuator button and an orientation tab that indicates when the unit is in the correct position.
Using the Mace Keyguard® is remarkably simple. Just place your thumb under the flip-top safety cap and press down on the black actuator button.
This 4-gram unit delivers approximately 6 short bursts of a cone-shaped cloud of pepper spray solution, with an effective range of up to 5 feet. The OC pepper spray causes respiratory distress and coughing, impaired vision, and an intense burning sensation to the skin.
